Balls Trippin' BaseBalls

Friday the 14th brought with it a night off in Tokyo for The Bennies, which began with a trip to the Baseball... terrific it was!  With a few swallows amidst barracking for The Swallows, amongst them being a few thousand-year-old-eggs, some chicken rice and curry, some "candy" from a couple of creepy fat nuts, some delicious beer and some sochu drinks with grape or green apple ice cubes from some saucey saucey maidens walking through the stands, and some Anty-avec-mohawk-on-the-big-screen action, the night was kicking off with tremendous promise!
We the hit up some dinner including illuminated beverages, before hitting the town.  With loose / unhatched plans, we ended up at some absolutely mammoth discotheque in Shibuya and this is where the party inevitably split.
The portion of events i was involved in saw a few members dance late into the night, with this venue solidifying how awesome a laser light show can be, what a spectacle!  Meeting more strangers who again swiftly became friends, ended up getting kicked out of the place and together headed straight for the best morning ramen ever.  Magical stuff!
With an approximate 8:30AM bedtime, it was a good "night off"...

Balls Trippin' Squid Balls

Our Osaka gig at 'King Cobra' was all about balls.. and it was great!
We ate traditional Squid Balls that are known in Osaka as being the best in Japan. When Craig scooped one up with his chop sticks he screamed "Ooh, I love salty balls in my mouth!".
And of course Jagger, the crazy singer from The Skippers got his balls out at the gig, walking around stark naked for all to see.
The Osaka audience were heaps of fun and skanked away to our set - Anty got them chanting along in 'Acid on my brain' yelling "balls tripping balls, balls tripping balls...".
The night was fun fun fun - Kusuke booked the line up, which also included Lucky Luck Bomb and The Skippers. They rocked out!
During our set Azusa and Aiko, two sexy sax players, got up on stage with us. Mxtxm & 1000 chan also ripped it up on the trombones. Thank you!
Kusuke was a legend, he took us out for drinks after the show to an Izakaya where we got our shirts off, Souv got his kreep on and Jagger was wasted and passed out on Tim's lap. Again many squid balls were enjoyed by Craig. That guy just can't get enough balls!
Thankyou Osaka for showing us a sexy fun time! Arigato.

Tenga

FUKUOKA 12/09/12

On what felt like a Sunday morning, we woke up and ventured from Kyoto to Fukuoka on Wednesday the 12th. After having a night off the booze on Tuesday I still managed to throw up somehow. Despite an extremely relaxing and calming time in Kyoto our bullet train ride to the next stop was mainly made up of sleeping, snoring and drool.

Yuji from the Convictions met us at the train station and showed us to our hotel and also where heaps of babes hang out...  and hang out they did (don’t really know what that means). Fukuoka had an awesome vibe to it, quite similar to Melbourne, except completely different. We smashed some of the best tempura that the guys have ever had (I have had heaps better because im really cultured). The tempura melted like creamy butter on our lips.

The venue we played at was called utero. It was the smallest venue so far, but the loudest one yet. We were made to feel extremely welcome by everyone at the show*. First on the bill was Infinity who were a melodic hardcore band. They were ace. It was especially funny when the singer Taka told us he would like to finger us again. I was unaware that he had done it once already. Next up was Yuji’s band, The convictions. They were like Less Than Jake, but great. We were on next and once again we melted faces, cracked boners and community man’d the shit outta that sucka. It was mammoth.

After we got really tired of signing tits, snorting cocaine and hurling shit around we went and got a ramen with all the dudes from the convictions, the Dj’s and also the filthiest dude we have met so far… Souv, I mean Tomo. Not only was the ramen easily the best soup the other guys have ever had, it was complimented by craig falling asleep at the table. Tomo gave us a parting gift of these things called Tenga, which are little eggs that you masturbate into. I haven’t tried mine out yet, but Tim reckons its egg-cellent (eeyyyooo). As were were walking home we bumped into two smashed as mums on bikes who were trying to get us to sign their kids’ bike helmets. It was pretty full on… but got even more intense when bowie signed it by writing, ‘I love kids - Anty’… Everyone else signed it as ‘Bowie’. Anyway I best get going and call child support.

* Insert joke about Bowie’s white shorts.

Ode To Lightning

Between the worlds of Fukui and Fukuoka,

Glistening lakes framed by mountains and fields stretch as far as the eye can see,

Yet running water is unavailable after 10:15am.

Kyoto greeted us with open arms.

“There are no sound checks here” she said,

as she replaced our performance pants with Yukata,

and ran us a hot bath (naked much?)

Sat down and re-vitalised by a flavoursome home style sukiyaki dinner,

Kyoto eased our minds into a deep sleep on our cozy futon beds.

Fukui Chop

It’s day four of the tour, and we’re feeling seedy,
I want 5 mins sleep, but I’m told that’s greedy,
For tonight we tear up a Fukui venue,
So I head to 7/11 and peruse their menu….

Spirits are high as we set up the merch,
Souv is yet to find love, so he continues the search,
The last two gigs have been absolutely amazing,
But you can’t help but feel, this one will be blazing….

Wearing an extra large tee shirt, and even larger white shorts,
I have to admit, Bowie looks out of sorts,
But after professionally draining some long island iced teas,
It’s his exceptional drumming, that has the crowd on their knees….

After a couple more drinks to get in the flow,
Just like Tim and Eric, we put on an awesome show!
We travelled for over 3 hours to play at ‘Fukui Chop’,
And after 3 minutes, Anty had them singing ‘Pressure Drop’….

All the Japanese bands made this a special night,
Both ‘Skalapper’ and ‘The Stackers’ played especially tight,
And although the DJ had a great reggae selection,
A pretty girl with lacy stockings, stole Souv’s affection….

With Fukui done and dusted, we’ll head to Kyoto for a rest,
We’re all absolutely spent, as you would have guessed,
But once we’ve recharged and get back to our best,
We promise another blog about how Bowie is dressed!
